Titirangi Primary School Board of Trustees 

Kia Ora and welcome to the 2011 school year. I would like to extend from the Board of Trustees, a very warm welcome to parents and children joining our school community for the first time. It will be an exciting year for our children. The teachers and school staff are back refreshed and planning is complete for delivery of the curriculum. The New Zealand Curriculum is a wonderful resource and learning areas can be woven into a range of learning activities from classroom based learning to field trips and and school wide activities.

This year, the school will blend the children's learning into three themes. "Quest" will be the theme for term one with Fantasy and Sustainability to come later in the year. Teachers will, of course, also deliver targeted teaching programmes in the RRRs. What we ask of our children is that they come to school energised and ready to learn. What we ask of our parents is that they engage in their child's learning. We encourage you to ask questions about your child's learning and be involved both at home and, whenever possible, at school.

Update on the Hall

We have finally got the green light to proceed with the repairs needed to our school hall and this work will start soon. You will receive a full update about this, and other property improvement projects in the near future. Whilst it is annoying that we could not secure activity on this work during the holidays we are committed to getting the resource back in use as soon as possible. The project will also upgrade sound proofing for the Library and is expected to be completed in Term 3.

Changes to the way we communicate with parents

You should see some changes in the way we communicate with you this term. The changes are based on feedback we received from a survey of parents in term 4 last year. We want you to be informed and involved. Please let us know what you think about the changes and ways we can improve the way we communicate with you.
