Parents play a key part in their children's learning. They are their child's first teacher, and parental involvement continues to make a difference throughout the school years. Building a partnership between teachers, parents and students is an essential foundation for teaching and learning that helps students to achieve the next steps in their learning.

National Standards From
2010, schools with children in Years 1-8 will be using National
Standards in reading, writing and maths. The standards give teachers,
children, parents, families and whānau information about where children
are at in reading, writing and maths, and what they have to do next in
their learning. |
