Science Week Super Scientist Search 7 – 12 May Term 2 Wk 3 2012 Following up on the fantastic response to children doing experiments for science week last year we are taking it a step further this year with a Super Scientist Search. Our aim is to find the top Super Scientists from each class based on experiments performed for the class during science week. Then to find the best three Super Scientsts for each syndicate. But : BEWARE !!!!!! Our judges are looking for REAL Super Scientists as well as whiz-bang entertainers. THINK !!!!!!! Why do REAL scientists do experiments? How could you show that you are a REAL scientist? The judges will be asking questions !!!!!!! What will the judges be looking for? Interest and Originality Where did you get the idea for this experiment? Can you explain the experiment before you demonstrate it to the class? Can you get the class to guess (predict, hypothesise) what might happen when you do the experiment? Can you explain what happened after the experiment and why you think it happened, USING WORDS YOUR CLASS CAN UNDERSTAND? RULES 1. Have a go !!! 2. Have fun !!! 3. Be safe !!! |
