At this time of year, there are always the usual changes, tweaks, and movements with our teaching staff.
So I have a few more announcements to make.
I would like to congratulate Mel McCorquindale who has accepted a position at Newton Central School starting 2022. Mel has been employed at Titirangi Primary School for fourteen years. During this time she has worked across a number of year levels and held leadership positions such as team leader, curriculum leader, Enviro coordinator and she has been a staff trustee on the School Board. I know many of us will be really sad Mel is leaving TPS but on the other hand, are excited about this new opportunity that is closer to home. We are going to miss you Mel but wish you all the best! You have made such a huge contribution to the school community and our children.
Kasha Klee has accepted Dance Specialist role at Glen Eden Intermediate that will start next year. Kasha is super excited about this role as she is so passionate about the performing arts. I know she has had such a positive impact on our school with her musical talents not only in the classroom but through APPA Choir, Junior School Choir, and the role she played as director of the production this year. Her positivity and can-do attitude will be missed but we are delighted that she has this new adventure for 2022 in one of our local schools. I know our Year 6 students will enjoy seeing a familiar face at Glen Eden Intermediate next year.
Maya Ishida has worked at TPS since 2014 and will be leaving us at the end of this year. Maya has worked across our school in different roles such as a new entrant teacher and her flexibility at releasing teachers across different year levels has been really appreciated. I know Maya is really sad to be leaving the school and we are going to miss her too. Maya will still be in the Titirangi community so will look forward to continuing the relationship she has built over the years with our families and teaching staff. We wish Maya all the best.
Lee-Anne Sutton has worked at our school for 4 years as a teacher aide. She has shown dedication and commitment to the student she has supported during this time. We have appreciated her flexibility when needed to support other children across different year levels. We wish Lee-Anne all the best for her next adventure.
I would also like to take this opportunity of welcoming Priya Rao and Lise Loane to our school. Priya will be working in the Year 3/4 team in Room 16 next year. Priya has worked in West Auckland schools and is super excited to have been successfully appointed to a teaching position at Titirangi. Lise will be joining our Year 5/6 team in Room 21, she has also worked in local schools and has a range of experience from Year 3 to Year 8. I know our school community will warmly welcome Priya and Lise.
