Kia ora tatou,
Thankyou to everyone who took part in the recent Board Elections from our Candidates to the Community. Board members are entrusted by the community to ensure the success of our schools and a bright future for our children. Boards have very significant responsibility in the governance of schools. They are a fine example of community involvement and democracy in action.
I would like to start by thanking the Board members who made the decision to not re-stand for election - Melanie Bennett, Jamie Gleeson and Joanne Macgregor. Board service is a demanding volunteer role, and you took on your Board duties with purpose and dedication. We appreciate your leadership and commitment to our students, staff, and community.
I am delighted to welcome Cherry Baker, Kelly Grace, Scott Iszard and Vicki Moffat to the Board following the September elections, with returning members Joel Rewa-Morgan and myself. We are grateful and excited to have this group of individuals join the Board and bring their unique talents, expertise, and perspectives.
The new Board will undertake training from the New Zealand School Trustees Association (NZSTA) on Thursday 22 September. The first meeting will take place on Tuesday 27 September.
