IMPORTANT INFORMATION - 14th February COVID UPDATE

Kia ora koutou parents and caregivers

New Zealand has received some big news tonight, if you did not see the announcement at 7.00pm there have been three confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Auckland.

As a result, the Government announced at 7pm that the whole of Auckland will move from Alert Level 1 to Alert Level 3 for the next 72 hours from midnight tonight.

That means that where possible you should keep your children home from school for this period.

We will be open for those of you who are essential workers and have no other options but to send your children to school. I am hoping that by the morning that I will have safety precautions in place to look after them. I ask that you complete this survey so I can plan quickly how many children will be onsite and that a school bubble can be put in place.

Although this is for a short period, first and foremost we want to stay connected to you and your Tamariki. I have asked teachers to make connections over the next few days to their classroom families and children, and to prepare for distance learning if the lockdown extends. At this stage, we will not be sending out devices. We will start to prepare hard copy learning materials just in case too.

COVID-19 continues to be a factor we need to consider, and I assure you we have a robust plan and will do everything we need to for your children and your wider family and whānau.

If the situation changes, we will be in touch again. Please contact us if you have any concerns or questions.

Stay home and stay safe everyone.

Ngā mihi
