Local People, Local History - 150 Years Journey

The Year 5/6 students have been working with the Creative in Schools team as part of our 150 Anniversary project. This has involved researching local history and interviewing local people. On Friday, Divon, Charlie, Abigail, and Mia from Room 22 had the privilege of interviewing Noel who owns Davy's Cottage, a historic 4-acre homestead property hidden away in the foothills of Titirangi. There were so many treasures and interesting stories from Noel. There were lots of skills learned such as how to use video and sound equipment, interviewing techniques, and lots of patience as chainsaws and planes interrupted the filming! It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved.
