Looking Back, Moving Forward…

The School is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. Thanks to a Creatives in Schools grant, film makers Britta Pollmuller, Martin Sercombe and Robin Kewell are helping the school to make a film, exploring the history of the school and the local community. Starting on February 18th, our students will be collecting reminiscences of how school and village life have changed over the years. They will then animate some of the funniest or most memorable stories. For an example of how the finished film might look, please take a look at this project, made by Oratia District School last year.

Stories from the Valley

We would love to hear from parents, ex-pupils, or anyone with stories to tell about school life or the history of Titirangi. If you have any photos or memorabilia to share, that would be an added bonus. Our trainee film crew will then record an informal chat, either at your home or in school. We can arrange a 30-40 minute session on a Friday that suits you, between Feb 18th and April 8th inclusive.

If you are interested in taking part, please telephone Martin Sercombe on 09 600 1186 to set a date and time. We will then send you a set of sample questions to help jog memories.
