Week 3 Term 4

Tēnā koutou katoa,

Thank you to all the parents and caregivers who attended the Parent Information Evening on Wednesday 21 October. I was delighted that we were able to finally run this event for our school community. I enjoyed listening to the teachers and students share information, and resources about reading, writing, maths and the digital curriculum. I have shared all the presentations from this evening and there are resources links to the files.

It has been an exciting couple of weeks for our soccer players and gymnastics, as they have been able to participate in interschool sports events, it has been great to see our children trying their best and achieving great results. A huge thank to the Claire Iszard and Hilary Peterson, sports coordinators, who organise these events and to all the parents who supported with transportation.

A reminder that we are starting to work through the process of class placement for your child for 2021. If you could send any requests by 30th October, that would be greatly appreciated. Please see the previous article about class placement for more details.

It has been such an unprecedented year, with so many disruptions as I talk to colleagues across the education sector I have to congratulate our community for the resilience and flexibility our teachers, children, and parents have shown during this time. I know that there have been so many key events cancelled for the children, many out of our control, but we will continue to strive to ensure that the children have engaging learning experiences in their classrooms and extra-curricular events too.

I will also send more information shortly about opening the school swimming pool after school and at weekends. I am just confirming the availability of the pool attendants but hoping to start this from 9th November until 23rd December to then reopen 11th January. I will keep you posted!

This is a detailed newsletter with plenty of important information - we encourage you to read it carefully and welcome questions or feedback.

Ngā mihi
