Tēnā koutou katoa,

Celebration of Learning

With the end of term fast approaching, it's a great time to acknowledge the many successes of the year. Reading through the children's end of year reports, it's particularly rewarding to hear the stories of personal and academic growth.

Thank you to everyone who came to the Celebration of Learning on Tuesday afternoon. It was wonderful to see our children sharing their learning and successes with their families. There was certainly a sense of pride and accomplishment from the children, with lots of happy faces from everyone.

Staffing Update

At this time of year, the focus also turns to organisation for next year. We're fortunate to be in a position to attract outstanding teachers to our learning community. I was delighted to announce the teaching staff at the beginning of this term. As a result, we are able once again to look forward to a stellar team of professionals leading the learning next year.

With this comes the usual changes, tweaks, and movement.

You may have noticed that Hilary Peterson from Room 20 is pregnant. Hilary is taking a year’s parental leave next year. We wish Hilary and Joe all the best and look forward to meeting Baby Peterson in 2021.

Katie Allen who joined us Term 2, has secured a permanent position at Mt Albert Primary School. A huge thank you to Katie for ensuring that our new learners have had a great start to school both online and face to face. I have really appreciated all your efforts this year.

Courtney Yukich from Room 19 will be undertaking some further study next year but has promised me that she will come and relieve at our school. Jo-Ann Yukich is focusing on the family business and spending time with her grandchildren. I would like to say a huge thank you to Courtney and Jo-Ann for their flexibility and hard work this year.

Sue Sedon, teacher aide, who has been with us at Titirangi Primary School for 20 years has decided to leave the school. A big decision for Sue to make and I know she will enjoy her next adventure. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to our learners and school Sue, you will be missed.

Congratulations and Warm Welcome for 2020

I would also like to welcome Georgia Reid (Y5/6), Blake Semp (Y5/6), and Mike Chatfield (Deputy Principal) who will be joining the school next year. We are looking forward to having these fabulous teachers as part of our school community.

School reports and classroom placements will come home with your children tomorrow.

The last day of school is Tuesday 15th December and we will close at the normal time at 2.55 pm.

Finally, my best wishes to the families who leave us this year and our graduating Year 6's, who we wish all the very best for the future.

I would like to wish all of our families a safe and relaxing holiday season, and we look forward to seeing you before the end of the term or otherwise bright and early on Tuesday 2nd February 2021 - the first day of term 1!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Bring on 2021!
