Pink Shirt Day, this Friday 21st May
PINK SHIRT DAY On Friday 21st May we will celebrate Pink Shirt Day at Titirangi Primary. Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying! Pink Shirt Day is about working together to stop bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusiveness. Wear as much pink as you can. If you wish, you may like to bring a donation for the Mental Health Foundation. Pink Shirt Day began in Canada in 2007 when two students took a stand against homophobic bullying, after a peer was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. It is now celebrated annually around the world. In Aotearoa, Pink Shirt Day works to create schools, workplaces, communities and whānau where everyone feels safe, valued and respected.
