Teaching Maths

Teaching Maths within our school takes on many different forms. Students could be working directly with the teacher, working with small groups or practising skills individually. They could be working with materials to help support their learning as well as conducting hands-on activities.
Room 22 have been improving their measurement skills. The first discussion was around how many different professions use some form of measurement, we discovered that there are too many to record. The children have been estimating and accurately measuring using tape measures and rulers. This led into work on calculating perimeter and area of different shapes. Lots of hands on work and lots of mathematical thinking. Great work Room 22.
