Enrolling at Titirangi Primary

IF YOU LIVE IN OUR SCHOOL ZONE

If you live in our school zone, we invite you to pre-enrol your child before their 5th birthday. We will meet with you to put a plan in place for your child, and arrange one or more school visits to help your child become accustomed to the school.

Our Enrolment Team are happy to provide you with more information and answer any questions you may have: please contact office@titirangi.school.nz

THE ENROLMENT MEETING

Once we have received your enrolment form, we will contact you to arrange an Enrolment meeting. You'll have the opportunity to meet the principal, your child's teacher, and to ask questions about anything you need to know.

Please bring:
  • Proof of age (such as a birth certificate)
  • Immunisation certificate (if available)
  • Completed health card
  • Proof of address (to show that you live in zone)

SCHOOL VISITS

School visits are a great way for your child to have their first school experience. These are generally just over two hours in length. Usually, you'll drop your child in the morning at around 8:30am and collect them at morning tea time at 11:00am.

IF YOU LIVE OUT OF ZONE

In order to maintain the optimum size of our school, we operate an enrolment scheme. While those children living in our school zone have an automatic entitlement to enrolment, others need to make a special application to be considered through a ballot process.

Please contact the school office for full information on the ballot process, and dates of ballots or if you have any questions that relate to the out of zone process - office@titirangi.school.nz

Out of Zone Enrolments:

Students who do not live within the 'In Zone' area of the school come under the 'Out of Zone' enrolment scheme. Should there be spaces available for 'Out of Zone' children, a ballot may be held. The date is notified on the school website, Fabebook Page and local Titirangi Facebook page.

Applications for enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority:

  • 1st Priority: this is not applicable at our school because we do not run a special programme approved by the Secretary.
  • 2nd Priority: must be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.
  • 3rd Priority: must be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
  • 4th Priority: must be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school.
  • 5th Priority: must be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the Board or a child of a member of the Board of the school.
  • 6th Priority: must be given to all other applicants.

If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth, or fifth priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued by the Secretary under Section 11G(1) of the Education Act 1989.

Applicants seeking 2nd or 3rd priority status will be required to give proof of a sibling relationship.
