Tēnā koutou katoa,

Firstly I would like to say a huge thank you to the school community for all the kind words I have received over the last week. Apologies if I did not send an individual reply. My Inbox felt very overwhelmed with all your beautiful messages. I feel very supported by all the positivity I have received. It means a great deal to me and my family.

We have a very exciting term ahead and I am really looking forward to the Year 3-6 school production 'Back in the Habitat'. Performances will be held in the last week of this term (28th, 29th and 30th September). Kasha Klee (director) is working really hard with our lead characters. Lisa Sparey and her team of children have created some amazing backdrops as you can see from the photo. All the teachers and students are working hard on their dancing skills in preparation for the performances. There will be more details later in the term about the production.

Some other keys dates to add to the diary are the school disco which is Friday 3rd September and the Pyjama Day fundraiser Tuesday 7th September. I am also looking forward to the Interschool sports this term which is Netball and Gymnastics.

A huge thank you to Constable Carl Musto who presented at the parent information session about the 'Keeping Ourselves Safe programme. Constable Carl has been visiting the classrooms working with our teachers and students to support this programme.

I have also appreciated his welcoming presence at road patrol during pick up times with some good reminders about road safety around the school.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Ka kite ano au I a koutou
