Creating our new values
This year we created a new version of our school's values that will take us into the future with something that represents us and is interconnected with the place we live.
It's important that they are meaningful to you and we'd love to know what you think about these draft concepts.
1 - Core Values
Represented as the sky, the sea, and the land, our core values are proposed to be:
Ako Tahi - we are all learning together
Manaakitanga - we are kind and respectful to others and our environment
Whanaungatanga - we build positive relationships so everyone feels connected and knows they have a place to stand
There is a strongly symbolic connection with our home here in Titirangi.
Discussion point: Do you feel that these values represent what is important to our school community?
2 - Learner Profiles
Tip There are 4 learner profiles: use the arrows to see them all!
There are also four learner profiles, which you can explore here. Learners are not only students: they can also be teachers, staff, parents and the wider community.
You'll see that we have chosen native birds as a graphical representation of each learner profile. These provide an instant visual connection and have characteristics that we can all identify with.
Discussion point: Do you think the learner profiles are meaningful and relevant for our children?
