Walking School Bus

The Government announced last year that education workers are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as per the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021. This includes volunteers and members of the community who work with schools and may have contact with children or students.

What this means for Walking School Bus volunteers

It's important that volunteers working with schools take precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and follow safety measures required.

As this includes the Ministry of Health’s advice on vaccinations, anyone who is currently or intending to be a volunteer for the Walking School Bus programme in 2022 will be required to be fully vaccinated. They will also need to show evidence to the team at Auckland Transport through a My Vaccine Pass.

Our amazing volunteers from last year have been super organised so we will be able to start the Walking School Bus from the Titirangi public library, Tuesday 8th February. Fabulous work team!

What’s next

As we continue to take steps to ensure our Walking School Bus programme is a safe environment for everyone involved, we appreciate your support and understanding. If you have any questions, or you would like to volunteer you can contact:
