Future Young Leaders Day

We left to go to the Future Young Leaders Day at Waitemata Rugby Club in some of the parent helpers cars. It took 18 minutes to get there and 10 minutes to start.

Firstly, we learnt about the different styles of leadership: lion, otter, golden retriever and beaver and how they can help us and also what we can work on.

Next, a guy called Ollie explained what Waitakere Sports does for the community.

He told us that the police and the fire brigade were going to come. Unfortunately there was a fire somewhere far from our location and they had to put it out.

An Olympic gold medallist, weight lifter Richie Patterson talked about not giving up and following your dreams. He may have not always achieved a gold but he kept on going and then he did.

Other activities included team building activities, a Halberg workshop and a leadership workshop.

At the end of the day, Glen Eden Primary said a karakia. We had a very good day and lots of fun.
